The following are some of the international events attended by CESDI in this connection and made a substantial contribution in the MDGs process.

Asia Pacific Civil Society Regional Consultation Meeting (RCM) organized by UNEP ROAP, November 22-23, 2012, Kathmandu, Nepal
Regional Consultation Meetings constitutes one of the main platforms for engagement with Major Groups and Stakeholders (MGS) at the regional level. They help build capacity and networking among MGS in the regions and Regional Offices. MGS and their representatives are invited to convene two to three-day consultation meetings prior to the GCSF. During the Regional Consultation Meeting MGS representatives dialogue on environmental issues that will be discussed during the GC/GMEF and GCSF, and produce a regional statement. Representatives of major groups are also elected to attend the GCSF. In 2012, The Asia Pacific Regional Consultation Meeting took place in Kathmandu, Nepal from November 22-23, 2012 co-hosted by International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) at the ICIMOD Hq, in Kathmandu.
51 participants from 27 countries in Asia Pacific participated in the consultation. In line with the agenda of the 2013 GMGSF and GC/GMEF, the Regional Consultation Meeting covered the following topics:
· Overview of major issues from Outcome Document and Implications for Major Groups and UNEP
· UN Post 2015 Agenda and Role of MGS
· Green Economy in the Context of Sustainable Development & Sustainable Consumption and Production
· The Role of Major Groups in Post Rio Agenda
Furthermore, a more general discussion on Rio+20 outcomes, on process and on issues relevant for the region also took place during the meeting. The RCM finalized the statement titled Kathmandu declaration that fed into the 2013 GCSF and GC/GMEF. CESDI was invited to the RCM, and Hony, Secretary & Director attend the meeting and made a presentation of International Environmental Governance, on the day I of the consultation, facilitated the working group on environmental governance and also was part of the statement drafting committee.
5.1 International Conference on “Education as a Driver for Sustainable Development Goals” at Ahmedabad, India, January 11-12, 2016
CESDI Director participated in the International Conference on “Education as a Driver for Sustainable Development Goals”, organised by CEE, Ahmadabad on January 12, 2016 jointly with various UN organisations. The Conference was aimed at bringing together global experience and expertise to highlight and strengthen the role of education in realizing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As part of the working group on ‘Sustainable production and Consumption’ under SDG, which deliberated on ‘Education: A key-enabler in Achieving Sustainable Consumption and Production’, presented a paper on “Need and Ways of educating the Consumers”.
5.2 UNGCP Task-force Meeting, New Delhi, September 22, 2016
Director, CESDI attended the second meeting of the Task Force on UNGCP (United National Guidelines on Consumer Protection) at Dept. of Consumer Affairs, Government of India in New Delhi, which includes sustainable consumption and production.
